What ever the technology improvements simplify our life , there is no way it will satisfy the child hood life of 1990's kids. To be fair, children of present age miss all those games we have played and sooner those games will become extinct. It is very sad to see even kids use smart phones for playing games. Of course, you can do it as one part not as a whole thing for entertainment.
If I look back, my childhood days looks fresh with all the games I have played and I am very lucky to be gifted with such good friends.
Chess, Carrom board and Cricket are common and they are played now too. But there are many other things too.
Kannamoochi, Kabadi, 7 Stones, Den, Kaadu-Veedu , Raja-Rani-Police-Thirudan, Names Place Things, Cards (UNO, Ass, Rummy), Chinese checkers, Nondi, Paramapadam, Pallanguzhi, Classic video games like mario, dave , tank, paranoid etc ,Business game and many more games which I have forgotten the names.
We used to play with tattha poo, thumbai poo tasting the honey, getting fruits from trees , walking at night, jokes sharing at night.
Best part is playing when power goes off. We used to play by telling horror stories, odi pudichi .
Festival days would be more awesome in our days. Well, if you have lived in a flat or apartment with many kids around , it is more of a heaven.
Nowadays looks like festival days are just holidays for just sleeping in home.
What happens today is that kid is sent to all kind of tuitions. Looks like the machine life for them also starts just like current day people have their life.
Kids nowadays spend very less time with their parents because parents go in search of money.
I agree with the point that today's kids learn more than what we learnt in the childhood.
But there is no replacement of the life what we had in our childhood. Today's kids are missing that kind of life.
Technology too much simplified our life to lead us the machine like life.
