Concern of our Travel Gods

While I was traveling across govt buses in long distance I always had this thought . Today I was sitting in front seat nearby driver place. He was talking about his work to one of his relative person wishing to join as driver. Well his words were full of frustration and bit abusive over govt and public people. He was full of negative about his profession and advised not to join. From his point of view to be fair he was right at least half percentage. First thing is drivers and conductors are getting very poor facilities at bus depots . I have even came across an article of poor sanitary and living room facilities for drivers and conductors at depots.

Considering poor facilities , govt bus drivers and conductors suffer a lot compared to private travels .Its serious time for govt to look and resolve the needs of them asap.

Next problem is food. They somehow manage eating outside. I heard that the driver was advised to not eat in hotels . Its always tough to find good food on travel . Other problem is duty for long hours and long travel . Sitting long hours gives serious problems as we all know . These people carry their difficulties to run their life. Of course every job has its difficulties. But these people never find holidays on govt holidays. Its tough for them to attend a function.

Only few people about these problems. Even though people can't change many difficulties of these drivers and conductors. There are a few people should do. First when bus stops for a food break. They should not feel that their time is getting wasted. Food is needed to survive. Breaks are needed by people who drive long. Start thinking from their perspective and stop cursing them in any case. Of course there are few cases where the problem is caused by drivers and conductors. At the end of journey a thank you note will do so much good for them. Smile of people brings them satisfaction of their work and did good for society. Wishing them during festival season I'm not sure whether it will make them feel good or bad.

So dear people start thinking. Be thankful and avoid them getting frustrated because of us. Let govt take steps so they get satisfied and happy with their job.

TIME TO THINK SERIOUSLY

It was Thursday (14th August, 2014) evening. It was time for 3 day holidays. As usual, I booked up my bus from Bangalore to my hometown Melmaruvathur. As the clock went past 9 PM, I started moving out of room. The unexpected and unpredictable weather of Bangalore started showing off with persistent rain.

Somehow I managed to reach bus stop despite heavy rain with the help of auto. Umbrella became useful only for my head. Bus stop was crowded with people as expected. So many things to notice. Pedastrian way in road was completely muddy and construction was going on. There was no space for people to stay in bus stop. Shelter was not there. All were standing eagerly to go to their home town despite these hurdles.

Traffic was at its peak because of rain. Even though there were so many buses going, people still were not able to find seats. Lots of people were waiting for Thiruvannamalai. Number of people was way beyond the number of buses. People were even willing to stand and go.

I saw one four wheeler person kept on horning behind a bus which stood in that bus stop. It stood I think for a minute. Horn was such a irritating thing and there is lot more in this scene. First, he should be knowing that bus stop is there. So, there is no reason to get surprised by stoppage of bus. Other thing, he can atleast look out of his car, see the people standing in bus stand waiting for their buses for hours despite the rain. Now, he is going in a car and he should atleast feel gifted and understand the surrounding and act accordingly.

There is no point of rushing for your life without even looking at the status of society atleast near to u.
Indian people strives hard for their life. Hunger and excitement to see their home and native place on a special day makes them forget the difficulties faced during journey as well as waiting for journey.

Atleast, college students and professionals have technology in their hand and book bus tickets online and make their travel smooth.

What about people from rural area. I saw them standing forever finding all buses going without even considering them for stand and go in the bus. Now, this problem looks serious and it is partiality in some sense.

I heard those people saying like getting up early in morning and then go. Someothers, were very much interested in going night itself.

There should be some way to solve this problem. First, people who are illiterate and from rural areas, should be given alternate option for easier journey during peak or holiday times. Atleast, phone call based reservations for them should be there or separate buses should be made available for them.

People accept all those pain to make their family happy. NO PAIN. NO GAIN fits in perfectly. Hopefully, India also moves towards developing path with the pain of its citizens.
