Suicide news has become common nowadays. With in one month, this is the third suicide. First Anna Univeristy Student, 3rd Year (Manivannan.S), Next an IIT Madras Student(Kuldeep Yadav), Now again an Anna University Student (S. Dhyriya Lakshmi) commits suicide. One of the common reason behind both Anna Univeristy Students suicide is that both of them were unable to cope up with Engineering Studies because they came from Tamil Medium.
This is a serious matter of concern. Students who got good marks in HSC from Tamil medium come to college to perform well again. That too getting Anna Univeristy is not easy. But even these Anna Univeristy students are feeling it tough, think of other students who scored average marks in HSC from Tamil Medium and getting into Engineering with English medium.
But now politicians are quarelling to get Engineering in Tamil also. It is actually good only when India stands on its own leg. See, now Engineering graduates are getting good job because of foreign based MNC Companies only. In that case, English has become essential. So, even if you study Engineering in Tamil, You cannot get a good job unless otherwise you do higher studies or research. It is not possible since for Under Graduate itself many students are studying through loan only.
Engineering in Tamil is possible only when India creates employement in its own land. Students should also develop entrepreneurship skills to create employement with in India. It is also possible only when he gets experienced to work or do some higher studies or innovative thinking and of course MONEY.
Its already loss of two good souls. So, its time for Government to think about government school standards and also college staffs responsiblity to ensure Students enjoy learning. It is in parents,teachers and friends hands to ensure Students doesnot have a thought about suicide.
